It's not the actual job - I've tried many with the same outcomes and I like my current job.........
Of course, a therapist could help rule out or treat underlying depression, as mentioned here:

And lifestyle factors like lack of a fulfilling social life would need to be explored.
(For me, apathy is sometimes not from an overwhelming lack of desire or motivation but a conflict between different desires, including a problematic desire for experiential avoidance. And I find exercise helps with everything, including my depression-related apathy.)
