    Exclamation Forum Upgrade

We have now completed the basic upgrade to the forum software and we managed to accomplish this without crashing the server or destroying the database.

As previously noted, certain forum features have disappeared temporarily, until they are updated. Most of these are add-ons to the basic software that are awaiting updates in order to be compatible with version 4.x.

The forum software itself contains some new or expanded and enhanced features which have not yet been fully configured. These will be rolled out over the next few days.

We thank you for your continued patience during this process.

Please report any problems or bugs either via PM to me or via the Contact Us.

    It may be browser specific.

    Re: Forum Upgrade

I'm experiencing a problem where I write a reply to a thread and hit "Post Quick Reply" and then get an error saying that my reply has to be more than 2 characters long.
    Errors

The following errors occurred with your submission

    • The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 2 characters.
To bypass that, I hit "Back" button on browser and then "Post Quick Reply" again...and it would work.

P.S. It did it again so I thought I'd include it

    Re: Forum Upgrade

Lana, I'm not getting that error at all. Can you tell me:

    What browser are you using?

Do you have your settings for the forum editors set to
    1. Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing
    2. Basic Editor - A simple text box
    3. Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls
I think there's a known bug for the Full WYSIWYG editor that may cause this. If you're using that, Try option 3 instead from your user CP.

    Re: Forum Upgrade

    I'm using Firefox v. 3.5.7
And yes, I did have the Enhanced Interface option checked! I changed it to option 3. Let's see how this works.

P.S. worked like a charm...no more error...though it looks a tad different too.

Thanks, Lana. That bug has been reported and should be fixed in version 4.02 (we're using the latest version now, which is 4.01).
