Re: Question on upcoming rape anniversary

My nerves feel as though they're raw and people around me, anywhere, only exacerbates this feeling.
If you knew the friend you might invite understands how you are feeling, and like an understanding friend would agree to remain out of the way unless you needed them for support, perhaps you could have a lifeline nearby, but not "in your face".

In any case, you have support here when you need it.

I know I am late on this. I am glad that it is going somewaht alright, minus the physical.
The only thing I can think of is what has been mentioned. Maybe try some deep breathing? There. Aren't you glad I put my two cents in?!lol

Oh! Boost/Ensure are nasty well Ensure is I imagine they are similar. Maybe just a light soup? Or even get some crackers in there.

Thank you STP. And your 2 cents always mean something to me - deep breathing it is, in the bath, with the epson salts.

Is it possible that your body is in panic mode even though your thoughts may not be?
    maybe a look at this
10 tips for coping with panic attacks might help in some way.
I was thinking along the lines of the breathing techniques that are mentioned in #6 on there. which is
Six: Learn a relaxation technique. First close your eyes and breathe slowly and deeply. Locate any areas of tension and imagine them disappearing. Then, relax each part of the body, bit by bit, from the feet upwards. Think of warmth and heaviness. After 20 minutes of doing this, take some deep breaths and stretch.

I hope you find something to help you settle your body down, I can relate to feeling like that at times.

There ya go! If your doing both then you can blow bubbles! Just make sure not to take a deep breath in while your under.

If you don't have an appetite, you don't have an appetite. It's not going to last forever, and if trying to eat makes you uncomfortable because it's that unpleasant, there's no need to force it.

Eventually your body will begin to calm down when your mind tells it that it's safe to do so. It will get there. Your mind *is* getting there; allow your body to follow when it's ready.

    Not much help today. Sorry.

Thank you AC, I'll give this a try.

Thanks Fiver. It's not very often that I don't have an appetite. So for now, I'm just riding that wave.

    Cake, ice-cream and hard candy.

It all helps as a treat to reward you for a job well done. And incentive to keep you going. The sugar isn't bad either.

I've gone out to find myself. If I should arrive before I get back, please ask me to wait.
