Re: How Facebook makes us unhappy

They call or email or text their news to us. The flip side of that is we call or email or text our news too. My goal was to make my life and my relationships more authentic and real. There are some people who we no longer hear from but i think that is the changing relationships of life.

Re: How Facebook makes us unhappy

Nobody even emails me anymore, they text or use FB messenger.

My goal was to make my life and my relationships more authentic and real.
That's what I would like.I'm afraid though,if I delete my FB I will lose contact with a lot of people simply because they don't call, email or write letters or anything. But,I guess if I am important to them they will contact me.

Maybe I won't delete mine yet and try not getting on it at all for a week or so and see what happens.People are so self absorbed though that they probably won't even notice.

Re: How Facebook makes us unhappy

people who were on facebook who were old, old friends don't call me, but that could be because I was upset over their politics and their constantly putting it on fb. they didn't understand why I would be upset by it. then I had one friend who said that she always told herself that she would never be friends with someone who isn't a Christian; maybe that is why I don't hear from her anymore. she also said that she was her politics and her religion. I never think that my friends are their politics and belief system since I have friends who are atheists, Christians, etc.

but I call them now and then. other friends who have always called me who still have fb still call.

Re: How Facebook makes us unhappy

I have a large immediate family and by now a large number of nieces, nephews, and greatnieces and greatnephews (if that's the correct term). Facebook helps me keep in touch with them because they are all over the world, England, Scotland, Australia, and spread out around Canada.
