David and Daniel made good points. There will always be weirdos and ***holes wherever you go.
Partial changes though might provoke reactions more than actually a total wardrobe attitude change.
In other words better to fully dress/look like the other gender than partially, might attract less attention (I think but what do I know LOL)

    Probably not, Gary.

If you don't look like everyone else, chances are someone is going to react to you.

Years ago, still very much in my hippy phase, I moved from Montreal to what was then the sleepy little town of Kingston, Ontario, to go to Queen's University. When I went into a grocery store (or anywhere else that wasn't on campus), I'd hear comments behind me like "Is that a boy or a girl?", a reference to my shoulder length hair. All I could think was, "Really? Did you guys not get the memo? That stopped being cute like 10 years ago."

It was like going back in time.

Years ago? You mean like many decades ago...

And, obviously, it doesn't matter since all those years/decades working as a therapist slowed down the aging process.

It might be genes. I still have to show ID for the senior's discounts.
