Seems like another reason to avoid bagged salad in general:

Bagged salad can raise salmonella risk, spread food poisoning - CBS News

"Salad leaves are cut during harvesting and we found that even microliters of the juices - less than 1/200th of a teaspoon - which leach from the cut ends of the leaves, enabled salmonella to grow in water, even when it was refrigerated."

I agree. I don't buy them at all anymore.

And seriously, just how convenient are they? How much time, effort, and skill does it take to chop up lettuce, cabbage, carrots, etc.?

Not to mention you're paying a lot more per serving by buying them prepackaged.

All that to put yourself at risk for salmonella, e. coli, and listeria.
