Ok, I should start at the beginning...

My grandma was always very sick. She was constantly in and out of the hospital. My grandpa took care of her. He loved her so much. He was a happy man. When she died he became a completely different person.

He met a lady and she now looks after him. Not like a nurse, but not like a girlfriend... it's hard to explain. Anyway, she had told my mom that one day he went into the kitchen, and couldn't find the microwave. In his own kitchen!

She had to go away for the weekend but she didn't want to leave him alone, so she sent him to stay with my aunt.

My aunt told my mom that the whole time he was with her, he thought he was in Nova-Scotia. My aunt lives here, in New Brunswick.

He is going for tests sometime this month, for dementia or Alzeimer's, or something like that.

His dad had Alzeimer's.

My mom has two other siblings. I'm wondering if she more of a chance of getting Alzeimer's (if my grandpa has it) than her brother. Because it's her dad. Or if she has the same chance of getting it as her sister and her brother.

And what are my chances of getting it? I have a little sister. Are our chances split between us?
