Amazing book

There was a very interesting statement in this book that always comes back to me i thought i would share it on the forum if i hadn't already.

THE METAPHOR OF A GUN
"Genes create the gun, environmental conditions and attitudes load the gun, and emotional distress pulls the trigger......eating disorders actually serve a function:they fire a warning shot to signal something emotionally profound is amiss..... if the gun is not disarmed, the signaling can turn lethal"

In the book it is a bit longer as to explain the different steps in more details but in general I think it really makes sense.
