Antidepressant medication

I currently take one 10mg Cipralex tablet once a day at noon for depression. Would that treat depression symptoms for the entire day?

There is no short-acting antidepressant medication (yet). So the answer is yes for that SSRI as well as all other antidepressant medications.

So each pill evenly disperses throughout the entire day not just hours after I take it?

Yes. The half-life of that SSRI is 27–32 hours. Prozac is the only SSRI with a much longer half-life, which is why there is a weekly dose available for Prozac.

Is Cipralex a preferred choice of all the SSRI's?

Whether it's preferred depends on the doctor and on the patient's history, but Cipralex (aka Lexapro in the US) is one choice with fewer potential side effects and a lower risk for side effects than some of the others.
