The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Loblaw Companies are recalling a frozen beef burger product because of possible E. coli contamination.

Butcher's Choice Garlic Peppercorn Beef Burgers are sold frozen in 1.13-kg packages at Loblaws brand stores nationally.

The product's best-before date is March 3, 2013.

The UPC code is 0 60383 89363 7.

The recall is part of an ongoing investigation into E. coli-related illnesses in Canada.

Other possible affected products are also being tested.

The CFIA warns this recall may be expanded.
