I read online that fanapt is used for schizophrenia. I have schizoaffective disorder and OCD. Does fanapt work mostly for the first one or the 2nd one?
Fanapt (Iloperidone) is one of those medications that must be carefully adjusted in the early weeks and, like clozapine, monitored for rare but potentially serious side-effects. If you think this might be helpful for you, discuss the potential risks and benefits with your doctor.
I read that fanapt can cause death in senile people. I am 39. There are other deadly side effects for seniors on fanapt. Fanapt can cause diabetes which means I will have my blood sugar checked.
Again, they are rare but serious side-effects when they occur. They include issues with increased heart rate and blood pressure and changes in immune system function, if I remember correctly.
