Hello,

It was nice to have found this place during a time in my life where i`m not quite sure what is going on with me.
I`ll briefly give you an idea of what`s going on in my life...

I`m 31 and i life with my husband, we just celebrated our first anniversary. I work as what you would call in a Government facility, a RNA (registered nurse`s assistant). I work at a private home so i am not certified/registered. My husband is a mechanic/pipe fitter.

Recently things have felt like they are spiraling out of control. My father's company (where he has worked for over 30 years) has locked all their employees out. So my parents are struggling right now. They are also stressed because they recently placed my paternal grandmother in the home where i work (she has moderate Alzheimer's). To make matters worse, she is deliberately ignoring me because she is angry with my entire family for placing her.

My younger cousin/goddaughter who just turned 18 was recently diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.

One of my younger sisters (who just got married in July) had a miscarriage and is not doing too well.

In terms of my own personal life, i've been having anxiety attacks for a few years but never as frequent and intense as in the last year or so. It is getting to the point that i fret about leaving the house because i'm afraid i will have another attack. I travel about three hours a day by city bus so i'm always tired which is starting to affect my performance at work (combined with what i mentioned above).

I am glad i found this site, i hope i can find information and/or people i can discuss things with. I'm open to seeing someone professionally but i am not very open to taking prescription medication. I think it might be right for some people, but i am not comfortable with the idea for myself.

Anyway, sorry, that is a lot to digest! Thank you for your time, i look forward to meeting you all.

Hello Shannon!

Welcome to Psychlinks.......:welcome2:

It sounds like you are being confronted with stressful challenges from a number of sources, which can be overwhelming.

Congratulations on your first anniversary!

What is your own support system like in your own home? Are you and your husband OK with supporting one another when either of you comes home after a difficult day?

Hope you find Psychlinks helpful and informative.

Hi Seraphine!

Welcome to Psychlinks!

I'm sorry about your grandmom not talking to you. Sadly though, people who have alzheimers tend to do this. Most of the time it is aimed at their caretakers. Maybe your grandmom looks upon you as a caretaker right now.

I bet that in time she will get over it with kindness and love from you that you shower on her. :)

I'm sorry to hear of your anxiety attacks. With everything that you have going on now, well, I'm sure this doesn't help with the increase of the feelings that you are having.

Just be strong, lean on your loving husband and have faith that you will be feeling better soon.

And, we are all here if you need to talk.
