Medication cocktail - is it safe?

So, was perscribed a bunch of new meds today, and man am i ever on a lot of meds now. Today was one of those horrible manic-depression-panic days so...

as of 1.5 hours ago:
took 4mg xanax (benzodiazapine; anti-anxiety)

as of 1 hour ago:
NEW PILL FOR ME-took 150mg Hydroxyzine (sleep aid)

as of 1 hour ago:
NEW PILL FOR ME-took 50mg Desipramine (tricylic antidepressant)

I feel a bit sleepy but agitated. I usually take ambien for sleep cause thats guarenteed to help, so debating about take 1 of those as well. At this rate I'm still not tired enough to sleep. But afraid of drug interactions.

Don't like the feeling this hydroxyzine gives me though... agitation in a sleep aid is just not right, plus my head feels tingly.

Did the pharmacist tell you when to take the different medications? Some may be better to take in the morning and others before you go to bed.

To add to what ladylore said, you really need to consult your doctor about whether you should be taking any of the Ambien in combination with the others.

It was fine. Slept like a baby. Ultra-groggy this morning though.
I did leave a message with my doc last night. He still hasn't called back. So I think it's okay.
