For some time now I have been conflicted with my state of mind, body and spirit. The psychotropic meds I have taken over the last 10 years have unfortunately helped increase my blood sugar. They are not all to blame but I have type 2 diabetes. My primary doctor prescribes meds to counter-act high blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol. The high blood sugar and high blood pressure are linked to certain meds prescribed by my psychiatrist. It's a vicious cycle. You combat one ailment only to have another spring up. I have tried to follow both doctors advice with good nutrition and exercise but the lack of time and stress in my work schedule severely limits the amount I apply myself to these efforts.

I left work early last night around 10:00 p.m. because of fatigue and body aches. I have over a 60 mile commute and caught myself dosing no less than 3 times.

I think I'm over-medicated but believe there's no going back because I'm in too deep.

Argh, it does get very complicated sometimes with different conditions and conflicts, doesn't it.

I wonder if it is possible to see someone quite specialised for some of the conditions, if you are not already? Perhaps specialists could offer more possibilities of different or fewer medications, but which could still give you manageable results?

It's tricky....

I agree seeing a doc that specializes with diabetes could give you more options to control the levels . New insulins new pill forms talking to a specialist may help hun

I too have type 2 diabetes and have been on antipsychotics for many years. My regular doctor helps to manage it recognizing that I have to have the psych meds to remain stable. There are many new diabetes drugs which I have tried with success. FYI.
