There could be lots of different reasons LIT; none of them to be mad at yourself for...
Some questions to consider when this happens could be:
-Did the good news open up some sort of new 'possibility', in reality or in your mind?
New or different possibilities can sometimes set off a bit of a 'panic button' in themselves... Just different; unfamiliar.
-Or could your brain possibly interpret it as relating to good feelings or good experiences that were not very 'allowed' or 'acceptable' for you to have, in the past? Or which could prove dangerous or threatening for you in past circumstances, if you had experienced something good?
Something off-limits or unattainable in the past?
Depending on all kinds of things, sometimes when we experience a circumstance or feeling that is new, different, or good, our brain sometimes might match that up with any of the following:
"Unknown"
"scary"
"dangerous"
"it won't last"
"it cant be real"
"I don't deserve it"
"I dont want to be let down"
"It'll cost me"
etc, etc...
It is interesting to note that in my little CBT app Cognitive Diary, quite a few of the provided 'rational response' statements that you can pick from, are very obviously made to be a response to bad feelings about something GOOD!
So don't conclude that this experience is too unusual.
Eventually the brain gets better at learning that GOOD is just GOOD.
