I'm 18 and looking to start a relationship but there is so much conflicting advice about attracting the right kind of well behaved females. Some advice tells you to be compassionate as I myself am moving in that direction, other advice tells me to treat them mean keep the keen.

Whats your advice on the general young dating scene?

I know that there is this idea about dating. I personally have never believed it. And as a woman, when a man has shown me mean - I gave it back twofold and didn't accept any other invitations from the person.

Just be yourself Daniel. Treat a young woman with the same kind of consideration and attention that you'd like to receive. But also remember that some of the best relationships are worth waiting for - meaning, take your time to get to know that person. Be friends first - maybe that's the 'relationship' you should be looking for. A friendship that slowly but beautifully evolves into something more. :) Those are always my favorites relationships. :)

There's a very old piece of advice about relationships with other people, possibly the oldest published advice but it's still very much relevant and current:

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Jazzey is right on. Personally, my belief is that games-playing in dating or relationships is a waste of time and utterly pointless.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. Behave in ways that illustrate that you are doing both of those things.

There is also the saying "you will catch more bees with honey, than vinegar."

be yourself. if you pretend to be someone else, and you get into a relationship, then you're stuck pretending to be this other person for a long time, or you go back to your usual self and the person you're with won't know who you are. then you're still on your own.

also, people deserve to be treated with respect. being mean does not fall into that equation.
