Back to the talk of Benzos...

I've been taking them for 2 months now and am feeling that they're not working like they were in the past.

In the last 2 mornings, I took the regular 0.5mg or Lorazepam and surprisingly, I feel the nerviness/anxiety inside me (as in, I take it, and I feel no relief whatsoever) which I haven't felt since before I started taking them.

I think I'm just going to have to wait for the Effexor to start doing it's job and then get off of the Benzos, or maybe just get off of them and taper off already now if they are not working. Perhaps I should get Clonazepam (am I correct in saying it provides the quickest relief?) and use those just when I feel like I need them and (hopefully) not on a daily basis.
I don't want to raise the dosage of the Lorazepam in order for it to relieve the anxiety. No raising dosages for me, thank you.

I still have 16 Xanax left over from when I was on those before... Is there any point in switching to those until I can speak with my psychiatrist after the weekend?

Just follow the directions as p[rescribed until you talk to the psychiatrist. For one thing, you shouldn't just stop the lorazepam - you'll need a tapering plan even after 2 months.

I'm aware of that, thanks for mentioning though.

Will wait until next week as I need to go back anyway as I have only 6 Effexor left.

I have only 6 Effexor left.

For the same pharmacokinetic reason Ativan (lozazepam) should not be suddenly stopped, neither should the Effexor. If your run out prior to seeing the doctor, you should get a reneway of your supply, at least to have enough to get beyond the doctor appointment.

I'm all good but thanks for your advice.

I have plenty of Lorazepam and like I say, 6 Effexor left, so enough to last me until next Thursday. I am going on Monday to the psychiatrist so no way of running out.
And I know that of course you should not suddenly stop taking both of these medications.
I'm all in order.
