Welcome to the Bipolar Babe website!
We are thrilled to have you visit today and hope you will return periodically for updates to the site, BLOG, FORUM and so much more. Have a cruise around and learn about stigma, share personal stories and educate yourself on the topic of bipolar disorder.
The Bipolar Babe project was officially launched in May 2009 and one major success of the project has been the creation of classroom presentations that focus on the sharing of a personal story of an individual that lives well with bipolar disorder. Bipolar Babe has also been extremely active in the community and media and we are eager to take these chats free of stigma even further into the world and we need your support!
The Bipolar Disorder Society of BC is the umbrella organization for the bipolar babe project and is a new non-profit incorporated in January 2010 receiving charitable status in August 2010. Our society holds great promise for aiding the local, provincial, and national mental health community. The Bipolar Disorder Society of BC has designed programs providing awareness about mental illness in hopes of eliminating stigma, discrimination and unwarranted fears of this condition. BDSBC has embarked on conducting the ‘Stigma Stomp’ classroom, work place and community presentations, and the ‘Teens2Twenties’ Bipolar Peer Support Groups, among many other mental health-based programs planned for 2011 and beyond.
