I've found this forum to be very enlightening, and I'd like to make a general "thankyou" to everyone who's shared an experience.

I recently went through something that I don't fully understand, and lots of other highly-commercialized sites generalize signs/symptoms and encourage you to buy books or self-help tapes that I'm not really sure I need. One site almost had me thinking I was borderline, but Dr. Baxter posted much more specific diagnostic criteria that made much more sense; and of course, self-diagnosis isn't a good habit to get into, unless you're planning on bringing something up with a professional.

As I mentioned, something happened recently that prompted me to at least find others who have been in my situation; mostly I've wanted to look at trust and jealousy information.

So thankyou to everyone who's posted, and everyone who's going to post. What you share is very valuable and appreciated.

:hithere: IDii. :welcome: to Psychlinks.

I am sooo glad you recognized that some self help books are not all they are cracked up to be (not all are bad, but some) and that self diagnosis can actually be dangerous.

It can be quite upsetting to "assume" one has a condition, when the reality could be it isn't that at all.

The only option for diagnosis, in my opinion (and I am not a doctor) is through a qualified Mental Health practitioner.

Again, welcome to Psychlinks and thank you for the kind words.

Glad you joined us!
