Been diagnosed with BPD, been seeing a psychiatrist who is monitoring my meds, but that's really all he does. I know I need more, and my marriage is on the brink of divorce because I have not actively sought treatment.

I am in the Ottawa area, and turned down a bed at the Homewood Health Centre because I couldn't bear to leave my children, I also turned down the day hospital referral... I have not actively participated in my own recovery, but am ready.I find excuses to not attend my therapy, and I am slowly finding that I need accountability, and am ready.

The issue that I currently have is the barrier to therapy, because of financial reasons. Can anyone point me in the direction to get the help I need before I lose essentially the only person I have left, the only one that believes I am sick (my family does not believe in mental illness). Thank you, to all that have read.

Re: help?

Homewood Health Center hun it is one of the best that treats your illness your children will be okay with thier father and you hun will have obtained the help you need to be stable In going you are being accountable for your care. Phone Homewood and see what is available and when ok I can tell you without their care my sister would never have made it Homewood takes OHIP patients on hun so if you are resident of Ontario then OHIP will pay for your treatment there if ordered by a doctor

Re: help?

Thank you for your reply. My venture with homewood was a difficult journey, and ward beds have a ridiculous wait. The program that I was able to get into, excluded me when my diagnosis was changed from Bipolar to BPD, I had funding and was applying for share room, and still took 9 mos, and as I said was turned down. Am looking for other resources beyond homewood, there has to be some other options out there. I am specifically looking for an outpatient program.
