Hi,
I am new here and looking forward to meeting everyone. A very brief bio - I am female, separated and nearly divorced (yah!). I have a beautiful cat, 2 grown sons and a new outlook.

My official diagnosis is PTSD. Major Depression also plays a bit part in my life. (lol) For years I didn't know what was wrong with me. The depression just snuck up and bit me hard one day and it's been a struggle taming that beast. I do think I have it (partially) licked now.

Now the PTSD is a whole different matter and one told in small bite size pieces. It wouldn't do to have any of you dropping from fright and I just hate a mess. ;)

Did I mention I also have Fibromyalgia. Gawd, that's a real pain in the *bleeps out*.

In any case, I like people and enjoy those who can laugh, in spite of the obstacles. After all, who would talk to me if I were complaining 99% of the time? My 98% isn't working so well either, so I might try to improve those stats. (heh)

I enjoy writing and once fashioned myself as a journalist, but things got in the way and I haven't yet realized that dream. Currently I am trying to kick start (read - motivate myself) to start writing a book. I have attempted this feat for more years than I care to mention. Perhaps all I need to do is grow up and figure out what I want to do for a living.

Did I mention I am 55?

Hi Lilannalee

Welcome aboard.

I also have fibromyalgia, along with a host of other issues that "I" believe come along with it, or because of it.

Dr. Baxter has an area for fibromyalgia - http://forum.psychlinks.ca/fibromyalgia-and-chronic-fatigue/ - in case you haven't found it yet, feel free to post or vent in there in regards.

I'm sorry to read of your PTSD and your depression.

You'll find many that understand all area's that you deal with in here, and I know you will find comfort from the many members that post.

I want to thank all of you for your kind words and support. I will be making it around this site in the next little while trying to sort through all the topics. What a wealth of information and knowledge all in one spot!

You have all been very welcoming and I do appreciate it. It's a little like visiting Cheers, if you remember the tv show. No we cannot see each other and no one is drinking beer, Sam isn't hitting on every woman in sight, and we really have not met in "real" lol......ok, ok, ok, it's different in this realm, but every bit as powerful.
