I'm someone who has recovered from mental illness (more than once!
) and I find it very meaningful to support someone else who is struggling. So ideally I'd like to spend a little time each week or two doing that if I can, or just be a friendly face in a community interested in these topics.
I hope I can be supportive to some of you at some point, or just chew the fat on psychology topics we're interested in. And when I have my off moments I think it's wonderful to be able to pop into a supportive community and see perspectives or friendly faces of others. It's amazing sometimes how digesting a different perspective or just talking with someone else can get our mind juices going or refer us to a useful resource, and so help us find our creativity or motivation in helping ourselves again.
