I Did It

For those who don't know I have been in therapy for two and a half years. But this past year was full-time once a week with a trauma therapist focusing on PTSD.

This therapy was suppose to last a year, and yesterday was my last session. We went over my original goals and I am amazed to see how much I have improved.

I gave my therapist a hug as she is going on her own adventure for the next year out of the country. She shared with me what she had learned working with me.

All in all it was a good and appropriate ending. When she gets back she would like me to call her so she knows how I am doing and at that time I can reapply for another year with her.

But I am not in pain like I was when I first saw her. What I am trying to say is that this is the first time I have had an ending like this. Usually it ends badly or I have hit the bricks way too soon.

I still will have access to the addiction centre for a support group which means I will see my counsellor there once a month. Everything isn't perfect but I have more tools to deal with the anxiety and other symptoms as they come up. And if need I have access to another service here in town.

Things do get better gang so keep the faith. :dance:

You have already been there ITL. At the moment your going through a temporary rough patch. And who's to say in the future I won't be doing the same.

But, just a gentle reminder that you have been there and will get there again I am sure.
