The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall on some Compliments brand bagged salads and coleslaw. The foods may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, bacteria that causes high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea.

The products are sold at Sobeys stores across the country with the exception of Quebec. The affected bags have expiry dates between May 12 and May 22.

The Compliments products include:

  • Garden Supreme
  • Simply Romaine
  • Harvest Romaine
  • American Blend
  • Coleslaw
  • Garden Salad
The CFIA is also warning about food prepared in IGA, Sobeys and Foodland stores in all provinces west of Quebec such as salads, sandwiches or wraps that were purchased before May 19.

The products are sold across the country with the exception of Quebec.

The CFIA said the food may not look or smell bad, but Listeria can be harmful to pregnant women, seniors and people with weakened immune systems.

The CFIA said there have been no reported illnesses.
