Video: Living With Depression (the Hardest Part)
by Therese J. Borchard
October 30, 2013

If you had to pick one thing about depression that was the most difficult to live with, what would it be? (I know. It’s hard. There’s so many to choose from!) Here’s my choice … the inner critic that says stuff like “YOU SUCK.”

For me the most difficult thing is getting through to the other side...believing you WILL get through it and have better days again.

I find it difficult when you have been fine and the become depressed again particularly after having an episode (and then got over it) you know the symptoms.

It's like a slow motion car crash you can see but can't avoid

I get angry that it returns and that everyone around me gets effected by it after that... it's the fact no-one understands they just think your a grump and being antisocial...*pfft's, tut's and eye rolling*.

I think the hardest thing is having to pretend I'm okay, especially at work or in mandatory social situations.

Why pretend.. I have been going through this most of my life and I have been hiding it or pretending it doesn't exist, well not anymore. I have my days, they come and go, I can see it coming but I can't always "stop" it. It doesn't help now that I am in menopause either! I am who I am, love me or hate me...because this is who you get.
