My name is Mary Ellen Davis and I am a 56yr young Bipolar/ADD trying to live with my 25yr old Bipolar daughter who I believe is showing psychotic features.I feel her psychotherapist is leading her down the wrong path and I am very worried about her. She charges on my credit cards, demeans me, threatens me and has trashed our apt. I have had to find elsewhere to live temporarily but I am on HUD and I don't want to lose my voucher. I have the support of my landlady and I hate to get the police involved but she has put me in a sticky situation. SOS PLEASE!!!!

First, welcome to Psychlinks! :)

Second, is your daughter on any medications for bipolar disorder?

Why do you feel her therapist is leading her down the wrong path?

Are you living in her residence or is she living in yours? I'm confused about why YOU have to move rather than her.

Hi Mary, I'm glad that you have found us as we are happy to help support you as much as we can :)

Above all, you need to speak to a therapist yourself to help support you and to help you know what to do. You say that you have a diagnosis, then you must have seen/be seeing a therapist of some kind. Is your daughter? Have you moved out rather than your daughter because you feel that you have lost control over her, over your life? In either case, you need and deserve support from a qualified person. We are here to help support you as you struggle with such overwhelming difficulties but you need the support of a therapist just to begin to deal with what is happening for you.

For now,
