Hi. My name is Tammy and I'm 51 years old. I've been diagnosed with Bipolar 1, Depression, Mania, and Anxiety Disorder, NOS, since I was 21 years old. I've been on and off the med go round all my adult life, and can say finally that I've reached a point where I'm stable on my meds (have been for about 4 years now), and I'm at a place in my life when things are pretty good. I struggle with the Bipolar daily, but most days I whip it. There have been times when it has drug me around by the hair!

I live in rural Southern Ohio (Appalachia), southern most tip of the state. There are not a lot of mental health resources available where I'm at, but thank God I have a true alchemist and a wonderful doctor in a larger city about 45 minutes away. I live on the beautiful Ohio River in God's country - a lot of farming and Amish folks around here.

My only hobbies are reading, reading, reading, spending time with my grandkids, and listening to bluegrass music (my husband plays in a band). I'm here for information sharing, resources, and support. There are a lot of forums that I want to peruse. Thanks for listening to me.

Hello Tammy!

I've reached a point where I'm stable on my meds (have been for about 4 years now), and I'm at a place in my life when things are pretty good.

Your current stable health is so good to hear about; you must be very grateful. We'll be looking forward to your paticipation in the Forum to share your experience.

What would you say was the most important factor in your recovery?

thank God I have a true alchemist
