A long time ago I read an article, (can't remember where ) that OCD might have some connection to epilepsy. It made sense to me because OCD is afterall a mental seizure of sorts. For example, in a fear of contamination, where the brain normaly sends signals after a person washes their hands that they are now clean, in a person with OCD, they continue to feel as if they are dirty. Like a mental tick that will not cease. This is even more interesting to me because my maternal grandmother had full blown epilepsy, and my mother also had trichotilomania. Is there any more research out there that suggests OCD may be related to epilepsy?
