When Real Player is installed or a version update is applied, it's a good idea to review ALL preference options, every time Real Player changes, to ensure these settings conform to your desires.

Real Player updates tend to reset preferences to allow tracking, and automatic updates installations without asking your permssion.

Some of these settings are buried deep in multi level preference menus that are not evident at first glance.

Good advice. Whwn installing anything, as a new installation or an upgrade, I always select "Custom settings" if the option exists so I can see exactly what is going to be installed. You may be surprised to find out what little "extras" are being installed by default unless you say "no".
