Risperidone, diabetes and cholesterol

Hello

Does risperidone increases the risk for diabetes? And what about cholesterol, dos it increases the cholesterol quantities in the blood?

Like other members in that medication family, risperidone is associated with a small additional risk for hypoglycemia and diabetes mellitus, although such complications are rare. If you are taking this medication, it is advisable to have this monitored through blood tests by your physician.

I'm not certain of any reported links to cholesterol but again if you're worried this is an easy thing to monitor through standard blood tests.
