Sensitive skin? Skip fragrances
By Mayo Clinic Staff
April 16, 2009
Of all the ingredients used to make skin-care products, fragrances are most likely to cause allergic skin reactions.
If you have sensitive skin, choose products marked "fragrance-free" or "without perfume," which means that nothing has been added to make them smell good.
Don't be fooled by the term "unscented." This actually means the product contains a fragrance to mask the smell of other ingredients or chemicals.
