There was a non-fiction book that I read in 1992, written by a former Christian minister turned psychologist... I think it was called something like
"Heaven and Hell: The Dark Side of the Soul" or something of that nature.... it was really excellent because the author talked about pain, trauma and loss in life and how to breach the gap, come to terms with those negatives and somehow find value even in those darkest of experiences... He somehow felt that we need those types of goings on ... to deepen our strength and understanding about life.. does this book ring a bell with anybody? I've tried googling and haven't had success... He had a Britishy type name like Andrew Stevenson or something... sorry I can't be more specific...
