Hello Everyone,

I found the link to these forums through Dr. Baxter's website (we've never met, he just came up in a google search) and felt this was as good a place as any to start looking for answers to questions that recently seem to require answering - questions I've long shied away from as their answers made little difference to me, and wouldn't occur to those who had relationships with me, but the broaching of which could irreparably alter my relationship with the questioned, something I'd wanted to avoid.

However, some combination of my coping mechanisms having reached their limit when it comes to more complex relationships and perhaps my own desire to refocus the resources they require have led me to... lower my guard? Reduce the frequency with which I employ them? I'm not sure what the best metaphor is in this case, but it's come to the point where I feel I need external validation or guidance, most likely from a professional, and before I go down that path wholeheartedly, I wanted to get some initial feedback on whether it's necessary. I understand the caveats and policies listed on the Forum Rules and will do my best to abide by them.

I'm not sure what the protocol is at this point - whether I should start elaborating here or split my questions off into a separate topic. Is more of an introduction in this venue required, or welcome?

Best Regards,

RedEarth

 Welcome to PL, RedEarth!

Personally i would start a new thread to ask your questions. You are more likely to get responses if posting in the appropriate section :)
