Cymbalta making things worse

When I was in the hospital my antidepressant got changed simply because it quit working.The doctor changed me over to Cymbalta(for depression) The Cymbalta only made the depression worse. I overdosed and decided I dont want to die after all,but
when the doctor changed me over to Efffexor it made all the difference. I am (most of the time) in a good mood and enjoying life.
Has anyone else had a bad reaction to Cymbalta?

There is no one size fits all when it comes to anti depressant medications, and while one compound may relieve symptoms in a particular person, the same compound may not be effective for another person. Each of us has a brain chemistry that may or may not respond to a given compound, and finding the one that works usually requires trial and error.

It's just the state of the art in this particular field of medicine at this time, and does not reflect one way or another on any particular medication.

Hi hun not cymbalta but another antidepressant i became unstable with like Steve said some medication just does not work while others do, I had to try another medication as well and it seems to fit better. I am glad the new medication is helping you now
