Getting Therapy in Ontario

How do you get therapy in ontario? I don't want to see a psychiatrist all the time, I'd like to work with a psychologist. BUT psychologists aren't covered by OHIP whereas psychiatrists are. What do I do?? Are there therapy services that I can use that don't cost me money. I'm don't have the income (at all, I'm a student) to pay for these things. I'm just so lost and I need help but don't know how to get it.

Actually, psychologists and social workers who work in hospitals or hospital out-patient programs are covered by OHIP, although waiting lists tend to be long. Your family doctor may know of programs that might benefit you.

Many university health centres off low-cost psychotherapy services to students. That might be your best place to start.
