Hi, I am looking for a therapist/counselor for my husband in the east GTA. We were referred to one in the west end, it is more than an hour away. We are already a low income family without benefits and can't afford to sacrifice one work day every other week.

My husband was diagnosed with depression. He is on cymbalta. If he does not take it he becomes extremely angry and moody.
We recently discovered husband was also diagnosed with ADD/ADHD as a child and his parents refused to medicate.
We also recently discovered his uncles and one parent have also been diagnosed with these symptoms.

If anyone knows of a counselor specializing in ADD/ADHD/depression and accepting referrals in the Oshawa/Durham area, or even in Scarborough, please let me know!

Thanks!

Check with the CMHA and CAMH.

To be covered by OHIP, you will need to use outpatient services attached to a hospital, e.g., an outpatient Mood Disorders program, or receive treatment by a psychiatrist or physician psychotherapist.
