The CFIA is recalling some brands of sliced white mushrooms. So far, there have been no reported illnesses. (CFIA)

According to the CFIA website, the mushrooms were distributed in Ontario and may have been distributed in other provinces.

No illnesses have been reported related to the mushrooms.

The agency stresses that Listeria-contaminated food may not look or smell spoiled, but eating food contaminated with these bacteria may cause listeriosis, a food-borne illness.

Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea and is of particular concern for pregnant women, the elderly and anyone with a weakened immune system.

For more information, consumers and industry can call the CFIA at 1-800-442-2342.
