Romaine lettuce recalled due to possible E. coli
CBC.ca
Aug 18, 2012

A recall has been issued for Tanimura & Antle brand romaine lettuce because of possible E. coli contamination.

The lettuce was imported from the United States and sold across most of Canada from Aug. 8-17.

The recall affects packages bearing the UPC 0 27918 20314 9.

No reports of illness have been linked to the product, however, food contaminated with E. coli can cause serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses.

Symptoms include severe abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea.

Canadian distributors are voluntarily recalling the lettuce and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is monitoring the recall.
