Sluggish Loading / Forum Outage

This evening since about 8pm I noticed very sluggish loading until the Forum and all Psychlinks went offline at about 8:30.....as I was about to post a message that I lost (ugh!)

Since coming back online, loading is a tiny bit faster, but certainly not as fast as I usually see.

Sorry about that. I was rebuilding the forum index - obviously very resource intensive - and it kept timing out. I was finally able to get it to complete about an hour ago by setting the forum timeout value to something ridiculous like 30 hours.

Should be back to normal now.

What does that mean/do?

It creates/updates the index which allows you to search the forum for information. And I am in the process of redoing it again now, in case you are experiencing slow forum response again.
