Last week I baught a Betta fish and some Apple Snails and made up a smallish fish tank that I had. The Betta fish is blue, there are two Golden Apple snails that are yellow and two Black Mystery Snails.

I was wanting to get a small pet, but it is hard sometimes to take care of things when not feeling very good. So my mom suggested fish.

I am shocked how much I am enjoying it. The snails are really neat to watch and the Betta fish is beautiful blue. They all seem to get along well.

My cat likes it too, she doesn't bother them or try to get it. She watches it like it is her own personal TV :teehee:

Mom likes it too, she says maybe later to get a bit bigger tank and a few more fish too.

I just wanted to share that I get this and it is small thing, but made me happy and I am enjoying it, although it seems simple.

Hi NN,

Where I used to work, many of us had fish tanks on our desks. I can watch fish for hours. I just lost my last Betta fish. His name was Spencer. The two before him were Gainsborough and Picasso.

Just wondering - how long til the snails are big enough to eat?

:teehee: I am not sure. Snails are hermaphadites so if they have babies, I am going to give them to my friend to feed to the turtles

I was going to name mine after Brad Pitt characters. Tristan for the Betta fish and the Black Mystery Snails Achilles (both the same name cause they are identical) and the Yellow ones Louie

Someone sent me a link to the Giant African Land Snail. It is HUGE!

Mine won't grow that big.

Would you like me to mail you mine when they grow big enough for food? :teehee: Cause I won't eat them. I do not like shellfish or seafood, (except Halibut)

Glad you are enjoying the fish :) It is truly an awesome spectacular to watch - how they evolve and grow ... without much help at all!

Wish I can give my son that type of freedom - to grow and evolve without too much interference - maybe just to feed him and keep his environment clean .. hehe

Glad to hear that you are doing well ;)

I love bettas (I breed). Whenever I need to relax, I just go into my fishroom.
Used to have a large aquarium with different types of tetras, female bettas, and dwarf frogs. I LOVED watching the dwarf frogs :)
