Hi, i thought i was a new person, but then i realized i'd registered in 09 and somehow never got to know you guys or post anything. i feel like my dumb gene is in control; i can't figure out the right way to fill out my profile info. Some info about me: i'm addicted to German Shepherd dogs, male or female. My very first dog after nursing college was a half Shepherd and it was she, Trustydo, who got me hooked on G. Shepherds. i live on top of a tiny mountain ridge covered in pines. The animals who share it with me are black bear, bobcats, cougars, and two packs of coyotes.
People expect me to be afraid of the animal risks, but nothing has ever happened and, to keep them wild and not habituated to humans, they and i go our separate ways eyes politely averted. The real danger comes from my three domestic shorthair cats who were dumped here by some idiots or other and the kitties decided this was a good enough place to make home. They are Jamie-cat and ArmE-cat (pronounced army) as well as my fat black kitty, named Bibby, who is spayed, as are the boys neutered. My GSD, Wonderful, Wonder for short, is also spayed.
This past July she turned an elderly 12 or 13 and i know i'll one day not far enough away, have to "do the dastardly deed" of euthanizing her to spare her suffering. i've been thrugh that responsibility more than once before and it never has gotten any less heart-breaking. i also enjoy gardening, nurturing those baby plants. This year i had a pleasing crop of veggies and flowers and a BUMPER-CROP of weeds bigger than myself
Oh geez, i'm sorry; i think i blew the part about being brief
