Up and left

How does a father leave just up and leave a pregnant wife and 7 children.
All under the age of 10 for another family thus destroying 2 families in the end.
What kind of a person is this. It makes no sense he had a family children who needed him and a wife with child. He just left. Even on his death bed he disowned his own children they meant nothing to him. Because of him their lives were hell. he just didn't care. What personality would this come under.

Without knowing the families and father personally the first thing that comes to my mind is a selfish person. Other than that there really is no knowing what was going on in his head.

If you mean personality disorder I think it may depend because any one of the personality disorders could be selfish, some more so than others of course.

I dunno. 2 cents.

Thanks STP i was thinking maybe some kind of detachment issue i don't know really. Just trying to make sense of things want to believe he had some kind of mental illness maybe so it makes more sense thats all. How could he not miss his children how.

I can understand that. I think people can do a lot of things we don't understand and it doesn't mean they are mentally ill. I'd like to think I haven't done to many horrible things and I am mentally ill.
I understand your trying to make sense of things. Sometimes there aren't any answers. Maybe he did miss his kids but was to stubborn or proud to do anything about it. It really is hard to know unless you know exactly where he was coming from and his thoughts etc.
It kind of sounds like I am defending him but I really hope you don't take it that way. I just mean that maybe your thinking to much about something you will never know the answers to so you have to make peace with it for you, not look for excuses because you will never know.

No thank you STP you are just trying to help thanks. He did not miss his family he made a new family irony is he lost that one too and was left with his child to raise on his own. It wasn't until then he wanted his old family back to help him raise the other child. He went to his grave not acknowledging his children actually phoned and told them not to contess his will.
YOur right there is sometime no logic to things I will look under some different headings to see if he had an illness maybe Thanks.
