Update:
I gave up on 9.am health for online pre-diabetes management since I found a local primary care provider that is very good. I am seeing him monthly now for weight loss. He expects my A1c will be normal within a few months.
What is helping me the most is just having more motivation, which is high right now. So I am doing more healthy Asian cooking, like buying a lot of produce -- and cooking them with proteins (like egg, tofu, shrimp) in water-based Asian sauces.
Like a lot of people, I tend to go through phases anyway where I become more health-focused, like I am now, rather than distracted by other matters.
In Arizona, produce at pre-inflation prices can be found at certain grocery stores like Sprouts and Asiana that use produce as a loss leader.
