Canadian Food Inspection Agency issues chocolate bar warning
The Canadian Press
Dec. 7, 2008

OTTAWA - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Shoppers Drug Mart are warning people with allergies to milk not to consume two varieties of chocolate bars.

Life brand Premium Swiss Dark Chocolate with Orange and Life brand Premium Swiss Dark Chocolate with 72 per cent Cocoa may contain milk that is not declared on the label.

The 100 gram bars have been distributed nationally through Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix stores and are being voluntarily recalled.

They could cause a serious or even life-threatening reaction in people with allergies to milk protein, but the CFIA says no illnesses associated with the products have been reported.

The lot codes of the affected products are UPC 0 57800 16450 0 and UPC 0 57800 16449 4.
