My psychologist is setting me up with someone one deals with eating disorders. Im not sure what to think. I feel like there is nothing wrong with me and im fine. Maybe I was just supposed to be small or better yet, maybe this is what my life is supposed to be. Im so confused, counfused about what I don't know. If I don't restrict then I eat junk and if I eat to much junk it goes back up. I get into these weird patterns. I don't know how to break them. hope this wasn't triggering or to graphic?

Re: Ed specialist

I would suggest giving it a try, and see how it goes.

I have borderline-anorexia/ED NOS, but have never had treatment for it on its own, as my therapist and I have things in hand.
I understand those starving-craving cycles, as my therapist has called them, and find exploring the emotions behind them immensely helpful in making the changes I need to make in my eating habits.

I really think that it would be a good idea to go to the appt and at least see how it goes. As you said yourself, you are confused and maybe this appt will help clarify what the confusion is all about. The way I see it, at this point what have you got to lose by going?

Good luck :)

That is almost a textbook description of the distorted thinking that occurs with an eating disorder.

It seems to me the referral to an ED specialist was an excellent idea.

while reading your post many things stuck out more than others such as like david says the fact that you feel that there is nothing wrong with you that this is your way of life. i admit when living in a e-d that is what it feels like cause you live with it and it is just in some way become part of the way you live but just because it is part of your routine doesn't make it good.. lets take a diabetic for example .. they have diabities they live with it every day but that doesn't make them the disease .. they are a whole other being the difference is that e-d 's is in your head so it is harder to make the difference. but in an other part of your post you notify the pattern you see that it exist and that you just exist in it in some ways as you say "you don't know how to break them"..
i feel that the specialist will be able to help you far more than anybody else and it could be a great thing in your getting better
yours trully

Well, I saw my ED therapist. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. She looks as though she is in her thirdies I don't doubt it. Its amazing because she has had an ED her self, but anyway just want to let ya all know that I went and saw her and that I will be going back.

Well, this is the beginning of the battle between husband and wife. My husband and I cannot afford, for me to see this specialist because it is so expesive. therefore I am no longer seeing this therapist. i feel like my husband is taking control over me. I talked to him and told him the extent of my condition and he just told me to eat. And that a residental in home care place cost a lot more, but I can't get it through his head. what do I do

I previously seen my doctor for chest pains. Its called Pleurisy is inflammation of the linings around the lungs (the pleura). Pleurisy is frequently associated with the accumulation of extra fluid in the space between the two layers of pleura. This fluid is referred to as a pleural effusion. Pleurisy is also referred to as pleuritis. This had been going on for about two weeks and its very painful. I go and see my doctor March 26th.

The pain fibers of the lung are located in the pleura. When this tissue becomes inflamed, it results in a sharp pain in the chest that is worse with breathing in, aka pleurisy. Other symptoms of pleurisy can include cough, chest tenderness, and shortness of breath.
Pleurisy can be caused by any of the following conditions:

Infections: bacterial (including those that cause tuberculosis), fungus, parasites, or viruses
Inhaled chemicals or toxic substances: exposure to some cleaning agents like ammonia
Collagen vascular diseases: lupus, rheumatoid arthritis
Cancers: for example, the spread of lung cancer or breast cancer to the pleura
Tumors of the pleura: mesothelioma or sarcoma
Congestion: heart failure
Pulmonary embolism: blood clot inside the blood vessels to the lungs. These clots sometimes severely reduce blood and oxygen to portions of the lung and can result in death to that portion of lung tissue (termed lung infarction). This, too, can cause pleurisy.
Obstruction of lymph channels: as a result of centrally located lung tumors
Trauma: rib fractures or irritation from chest tubes used to drain air or fluid from the pleural cavity in the chest
Certain drugs: drugs that can cause lupus-like syndromes (such as Hydralazine, Procan, Dilantin, and others)
Abdominal processes: such as pancreatitis, cirrhosis of the liver
Lung infarction: lung tissue death due to lack of oxygen from poor blood supply.
