YouTube - Good Charlotte - Hold On

I don't necessarily love this song but it does have a good message.

Nine years ago today my boyfriend passed away. I think about him all the time. I hear his laugh and see his beautiful green eyes in strangers.
He is the only person that knew me inside out. Accepted the good and bad. I could talk to him about anything and he would understand completely because he could relate to everything as he had Schizophrenia. It's a horrible illness and I wish I could have done more for him. I definitely failed him in more ways than one.

I understand the choice he made. It doesn't make it right but I understand. I have never been angry with him, more so with myself.

I am thankful for knowing him and miss him terribly. :beer2:

Suggested to me by someone else, who suggested that people who attempt suicide figuratively only hear the first half, the first two minutes of this song, and that perhaps if they could hear it right through to the end they might have second thoughts...

When you lose someone, it changes you forever. You will always miss him. It will always hurt. But, as you say, you are still here.

We learn to accomodate to the loss and, in time, to remember and honor the life of the person instead of focusing so much on the way that life ended. But it doesn't alter the fact that we are changedf forever from that moment on.
