I am looking for material on human behaviour in isolated environments. Do you have any links or suggestions?

What do you mean by "isolated environments"? As in "sensory deprivation", or as in "remote geographical locations", or as in "social withdrawal/isolation in a large urban center", etc.?

Also what aspect of human behavior in such environments are you researching? Psychopathology?

I mean social isolation in an urban center.
I am particularly interested in the development and manifestation of states of distress and mental illness from an early stage.
