Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 is now available for download to users with Vista and/or Windows7 operating systems.
There are some subtle changes in the appearance of the browser, but nothing that requires relearning.
Most notable is the absence of the page load progress indicator in the Status Bar at the bottom of the browser. The Tabs are located in a different place in the upper bars and their exact location (Show Tabs In a Separate Row). Other options are available by right click (context sensitive menu) in the upper bar, that will expose or hide various tool bars, menu bar etc.
Most drastic change is the search providers box is no longer a separate item on the browser as we saw in IE7 and IE8, but now search text is simply typed into the URL address bar. There will be a choice of your (pre-selected) search providers indicated by their respective icons, to complete your search.
Managing search providers is accomplished by selecting Tools | Manage Add-Ons.
Note the three icons just below the red X at the top right of the browser window to aaccess Home, (Favorites History) and Tools.
Microsoft also has Beauty of the Web as a promo site for IE9.
Have you found any other differences worth mentioning, and how do you like or dislike the switch to IE9.
Have you encountered any issues with your download, installation or navigation of IE9?
