Someday Melissa: A Mother's Loss, a Daughter's Story

We wanted to bring an upcoming documentary film called Someday Melissa to your attention that we read about in the New York Times.

This film tells the story of a family's loss of their 19-year-old daughter to Bulimia. Melissa Avrin started treatment for the disorder at age 16, but ultimately lost her battle.

Melissa's mother, Judy Avrin, began the project to deal with her grief and after finding a journal written by Melissa about wanting to someday make a movie that would change the world. The film includes interviews with many of Melissa's family and friends, as well as professionals in the field. The goal is to bring awareness to Bulimia and other Eating Disorders and what family and friends should be looking for.
