I met a friend for coffee this morning. During our time together, she stopped talking, paused and then she said "I need to tell you what I like about you" and she proceeded to tell me. It was a great reminder that no matter what is going on I am still a good person with many strengths.

So this is the inspiration for this thread. What are some of your best stengths/personality traits? If you were to ask a friend to name them for you, what would they say? So what are your 3 best traits/strengths? As with the '3 postive things' thread, you can always come back and add 3 more of your positive traits. Even if you can name only 1 or 2 at the moment, that's ok too.

So to start off here are 3 of my best strengths/traits:

I create 'a space' for my friends to really speak
I am genuine
I am straight forward with people

I took the Brief Strengths Test at the positive psychology site and here are my top 3 strengths.

  1. Creativity
  2. Curiosity
  3. Openmindeness

I'd like to take the VIA Signature Strengths test which is more indepth, later.
I know this is about our 3 top strengths but my lowest strength is forgiveness. :panic:

My lowest strength was Hope.

  • Open-mindedness [judgment, critical thinking]
  • Love of Learning
  • Perspective [wisdom]

  • Kindness [generosity, nurturance, care, compassion, altruistic love, "niceness"]
  • Social Intelligence [emotional intelligence, personal intelligence]
  • Prudence
  • Appreciation of beauty and excellence [awe, wonder, elevation]
  • Humor [playfulness]

Mine were grouped into high, moderate, etc. I just listed the ones in the top group.

:) The others are there. I just listed the ones in the top group.
